PowerPoint 2019 New Domains:

1.4.4: Set up slide show recording options

You can record your PowerPoint presentation and capture narrations, slide timings, and digital ink annotations, and you can save that recording as a video file, which is helpful if you are putting up a web-based or self-running slide show. You can record a slide show through the Slide Show tab or the Recording tab.

2.1.4: Insert Summary Zoom slides

A Summary Zoom slide contains thumbnails of a presentation, similar to a landing page that allows you to see pieces of your presentation all at once. While presenting, you can use the Summary Zoom slide to navigate from one place in your presentation to another in any order without interrupting the flow of your presentation. You can find the Summary Zoom tool in the Zoom dropdown of the Links group in the Insert tab.

3.2.2: Insert Section Zoom links and Slide Zoom links

Section Zooms and Slide Zooms are thumbnail images of another slide you can place on a source slide that links you to the corresponding section (Section Zoom) or slide (Slide Zoom). Slide Zooms are good options for shorter presentations without sections. A Slide Zoom will return you to the source slide after you are done with the linked slide, and a Section Zoom will return you to the source slide after all of the slides in the linked section are navigated.

3.3.3: Insert screenshots and screen clippings

Screenshots capture snapshots of windows that you have open on your computer. When you select the Screenshot tool, all open program windows are displayed as thumbnails in the Available Windows gallery that you can choose from (minimized windows are not available). The Screen Clipping tool allows you to turn part of your current screen into an image file.

3.4.2: Draw by using digital ink

Digital ink allows you to write, draw, or highlight text by using pen sets that are customizable and portable, meaning that they are available in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The Draw tab appears on the ribbon automatically for touch-enabled devices, but you can manually add it through File > Options > Customize Ribbon if it is not automatically available.

3.4.7: Add alt text to graphic elements for accessibility

Alternative text (alt text) allows screen readers to capture and read aloud descriptions associated with a graphic object, providing aid for those with visual impairments. You can add alt text by selecting an object and using the Alt Text tool in the Format contextual tab, or you can right-click the object and select Edit Alt Text.

4.4.1: Insert 3D models

A 3D model allows you to rotate the view of an image 360 degrees in all three dimensions. You insert it much like you would insert a 2D image, and you can use a local file or a file from an online source.

4.4.2: Modify 3D models

Once you insert a 3D model, you can use the Format contextual tab to customize the view, position, and size of the image. You can use the rotation handles around the model to change the view or use a preset view found in the tab.

4.5.2: Create and insert screen recordings

Screen recordings are very useful when developing tutorials and demonstrations. When creating screen recordings, you can add voice-over narrations and a pointer arrow to add further direction. The Screen Recording tool can be found on the Insert tab.

5.2.2: Animate 3D models

You can animate 3D models through the Animations tab in the same way you can animate other objects. You can use Effect Options and different Timing settings to control how the animation is applied to the 3D object.
